Perhaps it was the decent weather(!) but a record 79 runners took part in this year's Simmer Dim Half Marathon. After a succession of years' of poor conditions, the participants wre delighted to have the sun on their backs, along with a nice south easterly breeze. Matthew Cox, one of Team Shetlands Half Marathon team in Jersey took the mens honours, winning in 1:25:31. Charlotte Black ran a great race, keeping in touch with the minor-placed mean to complete the route in 1:31:59.
The track and Field areas are unavailable to us this Friday and Saturday as the area is booked out for the Classic Car Show(!)
Therefore, training is CANCELLED for all groups on Friday evening and the Under 9/11's group on Saturday morning. Please pass this message on to those who may not have access to the website of Facebook

This team has been selected from athletes representing Clubs from Shetland, Orkney and the Western Isles.
You'll find below the full team for this fixture below. Good luck to all athletes and particularly the Shetland contingent
A big well done to all of those competitors who took part yesterday in challenging conditions! Some of our athletes gained qualifying standards for Gotland 2017 which is fantastic so early in the season , and in unfavourable weather. Lots of PB's and it was great to see so many of the Club's future stars giving a good account of themselves. A huge thank you to all those who helped officiate and work with the results. Musn't forget to mention those who kept the hot drinks and food table going throughout the day.
